Short-term Mission Trips

Life Child provides mission trip opportunities in South Africa, Mozambique, Malawi, and Zimbabwe, where participants can engage in various service projects. These trips are organized under the leadership of Life Church, highlighting our commitment to social justice in local communities.

Life Child is offering mission trip opportunities in Africa where you can serve in one of our projects in the following countries: South Africa, Mozambique, Malawi, and Zimbabwe. Life Child is one of the social justice expressions of our local Life Churches in Africa. Mission team activities are facilitated under the leadership of Life Church and Life Child.

Where can you go, and what Life Child projects do we currently have:

Quelimane, Mozambique:

  1. The Peace School serves Grades 1-6 and includes an agriculture farm for sustainability.
  2. The Okalawo Children’s Village features residential foster homes, a primary school for Grades 1-4, a medical clinic that serves as a training hub for preventative health, and an agriculture farm. 
  3. To enhance self-sustainability, we have established a Moringa Farm and launched a sewing workshop and cohort.
  1. The Peace School is a primary school catering to Grades 1-6 students. We also have an agriculture farm where we have goats and are growing vegetables for sustainability.
  2. The Okalawo Children’s Village consists of residential foster homes and a primary school that caters to children from Grades 1-4. We also have a Medical Clinic – used as a training hub for preventative health and an agriculture farm where we have pigs and are growing vegetables.
  3. To be more self-sustainable, we have a Moringa Farm and have launched a sewing workshop and cohort.

Blantyre, Malawi:

Life Child has an Early Childhood Development Centre that looks after 60 preschoolers. We also have land that we are currently preparing for agriculture (planting vegetables).

Harare, Zimbabwe:

Life Child Zimbabwe is currently working with vulnerable families to strengthen and equip them so that they can stay together.

Cape Town, South Africa:

Life Child operates in Philippi, where we have our Life Child Centre, which includes a foster home and Montessori preschool. We are currently renovating our second foster home.

Activities:

Mission trip activities are tailored to meet the current needs of the project, assisting children, their families, and the wider community. Itineraries are customized to align with the skills of mission team members and the duration of their trips. Past activities have included rebuilding structures, painting schools and foster homes, organizing fun days for children, conducting spiritual outreach, and assisting in the medical clinic.

The activities are based on the current needs of the project. This can include assistance in the daily activities of the children, their families, and the wider communities.

All Mission trip itineraries are tailored to facilitate the skill set of mission team members and the time frame for your trip.

Past mission trip activities have included the rebuilding of structures (mud/stick homes), painting of schools and foster homes, fun days for children, spiritual outreaches at our schools and the local community schools, and helping in the medical clinic.
