Life Child Preschool

Our Life Child Preschool is situated in Philippi, Cape Town. It provides a safe environment with quality Montessori education for 24 of the most vulnerable children from the neighbouring
community, aiming to reach out and empower their families.

Life Child Foster Homes

Life Child’s two foster homes in Philippi, registered as a Cluster Foster Care Scheme, provide medium- to long-term care for vulnerable children placed by government social workers. Each home, led by a foster mother, supports six children with comprehensive care, including education, health, and spiritual development.

Life Child has two foster homes in the Philippi community and is registered as a Cluster Foster Care Scheme with the Department of Social Development. The homes accommodate placements by government social workers of the most vulnerable children from the community for medium to long-term care. Each family home has six children with a loving foster mother. While in our care, Life Child provides the children with quality care
and full support, which includes their education,
health, nutrition, and social and spiritual development. One Foster Home is currently in
operation with one house mom and five children.

Life Child is devoted to a child, family, and community approach to ministry.

We work with all our families. However, we are currently working intensively with three of our highly vulnerable families with entrepreneurial skills training and small business initiatives that help to keep families together.

Partner Preschool

The Ithemba Preschool in Samora Machel is a Life Child Partner Preschool. Eight of the children are sponsored by Life Child. Life Child provides spiritual input to all 60 children enrolled there through cell groups.

Life Child Gives Back

Life Child Preschool graduates progress to primary school while staying connected through weekly Cell groups, Children’s Church, and events like the year-end Reunion party to celebrate their achievements. A Life Skills program is also being developed to support their growth throughout primary school.

Over the years, the Life Child Preschool has seen many pre-schoolers graduate into Primary School. Life Child continues to journey with these children by connecting with them through weekly Cell groups, Children’s Church, and recreational events, including a year-end Reunion party where they share their school accolades. A Life skills school program is being developed to continue the relationship with our graduates through Primary school.

Future Plans

We are keen to buy some land – to build a preschool and primary school and to continue taking our young children to the next level. In light of the success of our Foster Homes – we would like to purchase more homes in the future to rescue even more children in need.
